Recent modifications to Webstore

Webstore changes are often 'behind the scenes' or available only to administrators. However this latest wave of changes Webstore brings a major modification that will affect all users.

Link as a page group (all users)

Up until now there have been two types of page group: web pages and files of any other type. There is now a third: the 'Web link'. As its name suggests this links to another Web page , making it simpler for users to share links with each other. The link always opens in a new window.

Search Page (all users)

The layout of the search page has been altered in response to feedback from users as to what was suitable for the initial page and what should come under 'more options'. The searching itself remains unaltered.

Downloading Spreadsheet (administrators only)

This allows you to download the current Webstore configuration of users and groups. This is especially useful if changes have been made via the web interface rendering your old copy of the spreadsheet obselete.

Usage Monitor (administrators only)

This counts the number of times that the top of the school's tree and (if present) homepage are visited in the given month. The number is simply the number of times that Webstore receives requests for these pges, and as such does not take into account the level of activity further down the folder tree.

There is currently no scheduled downtime for Webstore.
