Detailed list of uses of new Webstore for Education with detailed user solutions

1. Maintaining a school web site

Create a folder with the head teacher, member of staff responsible for maintaining site as caretaker, and all members of department as readers and writers. Individual members of staff can upload pages groups, and give colleagues their opinions. The caretaker can check suitability of pages, but nothing is made public until approved by the head teacher.

Pupil working at school saves their work to their Webstore private folder, downloads it at home and works on it. When he has finished, he can save it back to the private folder, and have it available from school.

10. After-school club.

Teacher working at school saves their work to their Webstore private folder, downloads it at home and works on it. When he has finished, he can save it back to the private folder, and have it available from school.

13. Minutes of departmental meetings.

19. News board.

Create a folder with no publishers, a member of staff responsible for maintaining the news board as caretaker, all members of staff as writers, and all members of staff (for a staff news board) or all users in the school (for a school news board) as readers

20. Access to applications e.g. calendar.

Separate controls for access to applications will be incorporated into Webstore in the future

21. Announcements to parents

Create a folder for announcements with the member of staff responsible for maintaining the announcements as caretaker, all staff who may have announcements to make as writers and either:
a. No readers, the member of staff responsible for checking announcements for accuracy as publisher, and making announcements public
b. Creating an account for each parent, and making them readers of the announcements folder, and not having a publisher

22. Deeply sensitive information

Information sent to and received from Webstore travels over the public internet, and hence Webstore is not a suitable location for storing deeply sensitive information

23. Administrator can fix any problems.

Members of the admins group can delete any inappropriate material, change passwords for any users that may have forgotten them, replace inaccurate material on the school's web site and immediately re-publish it.

24. Sharing of instant teaching resources.

Create a folder with no publishers, a responsible member of staff as caretaker, all teachers as readers and those members of staff responsible for buying resources from www.instantteaching.net as writers.
