Downloading and Installing the Web Publishing Wizard

For information on the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard (WPW) click here.

The WPW features in the 'Add Page Group' section of Webstore For Education.
Once you have filled in the name of your new Page Group you need to proceed to uploading your web pages using the WPW.

How do I know if WPW is already installed on my computer?

If you can see the icon illustrated below on the Upload page, then the WPW is already installed on your computer. If can not see the image illustrated below, you need to download and install the WPW by following the instructions below.

How do I download and install the WPW?

  1. Click on the 'Download Now' link at the bottom of the page.
  2. When you get the following window:

    Ensure 'Run this program from its current location' is selected and click 'OK'

  3. You will now be asked you read and accept the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard terms and conditions.
    Read these terms and conditions and then proceed by clicking 'YES'.
  4. The Web Publishing Wizard will now be installed on to your computer.
  5. You will have to resart you Internet Explorer and in some cases you may be asked to restart your computer.
  6. Once you have completed steps 1 - 5 you should be able to see the WPW image on the 'Add New Page Group' page.
  7. If you have followed all the above steps and can still not see the WPW image then you have probably had it deactivated in one of the service packs installed on your computer.

    It can be reactivated by runing the appropriate file below:

    Windows 2000, XP
    Windows 98, ME

    Then restart Internet Explorer.
