The Search function allows you to look for any page groups that you have permissions to view. For anonymous browsers this means all published content across Webstore. In addition, members of a particular organisation can search for any additional content to which they have access.
Clicking on search on the navigation bar of the Webstore home page gives the following:

Remember that content in Webstore consists of page groups. Every page group that is uploaded onto Webstore has to have an information page completed.
This search form matches that information page. This means that you can search for information that was included in the information form by the person who uploaded the page group. This is similar to a search engine on the internet looking for 'tags' which give information about web pages.
Unless you know the exact page title or the author, the most useful search functions are probably the 'date from' and 'key words'.
Don't forget that you can also browse through an organisation's structure to find the content you want.
Generally speaking, the search will match whole separate words, spelt the same but regardless of case. E.g. 'sample student' will find examples including 'sample' and 'Sample', and examples including 'student' and 'Student'. It will not be able to match a word that has been typed incorrectly e.g. 'studetn'.
Type in here any whole words that you want the search to match in the page description. E.g. Typing 'trip' will find any page group where the uploader has written a sentence including the word 'trip' in the page description. Note that any word(s) included as key words in the generic Webstore keyword list or an organisation's additional keyword list will not usually have been added to the page description.
The search will find any whole word existing in the page title.
The search will find any whole word existing in the author name. Note that this is usually the full name associated with logging in, and is attached to the page by default, not usually by the uploader as they put the page group on.
The search will look inside a specific organisation if chosen here. There is also an option for '(all)' which will search across the whole of Webstore. If you are logged on, the default will be your logged organisation.
Click on the drop down menus to insert appropriate dates. The 'Date From' option is particularly useful for searching for content from when you last visited the site. The database is updated at the end of each day, so page groups uploaded on the day you are searching will not show in the search. You may still access them however from the browse view - if you know where they are...
This allows you to differentiate between looking for page groups that are web pages, or documents (any other type of file).
is only accessible by publishers and administrators and is dealt with in Search by Page Status in Change Page Properties.
These are extremely useful, as they avoid any problems with spelling, typing etc. They are also quick to choose when the page is uploaded, and are therefore used a lot. You can search on more than one keyword by pressing down CTRL and clicking on more than one key word. This will find page groups with either key word in e.g. Choosing 'DRAMA' and 'ENGLISH' will find all page groups with 'DRAMA' included as a keyword when they were uploaded, all page groups with 'ENGLISH' included, and all page groups with 'DRAMA' and 'ENGLISH' included.
Another useful tip is that if you highlight a specific organisation it automatically displays the additional keywords for that organisation in the list as well.

You can do another search by either clicking on 'search' again, or by clicking 'Back' on the top left of the Internet Explorer navigation bar.
