Add Page Group / Multiple Files of any other type

(relevant to Writers, Caretakers, Administrators)

This section shows you how to upload 'Multiple Files of any other type' that are not web pages, eg several Word documents, a class set of Excel files, etc. The procedure is exactly the same for both novice and advanced users. The novice pages just have instructions included, so pictures from the advanced pages are used below to save space, with the instructions from the novice page in red.

Make sure you have read Add Page Group/Web Page without Subfolder as this provides more detail, and Add Page Group Overview.

There are two stages:

  1. Transferring the files to Webstore.
  2. Completing the Page Group Details Page, one page dealing with all the files uploaded.

1. This is the Multiple Files upload page:

Click or double click on the 'Web Publishing Wizard' icon.

You should see a window open like the one below.

File selector

Click on 'Files of Type' and choose 'All Files'

so that you can see your files when you get to them.

Go to the folder that contains your files.

You may need to click on the arrow pointing down to show all the directories on your computer, as in the next diagram:

List of directories

Go to the folder that contains your files.

Highlight the files you want to copy to your folder and click Open. To highlight all your files hold down 'Ctrl' and click each file individually.

Alternatively, starting in the empty part of the window you can drag across the filenames with the mouse to highlight them all. This is recommended when there are lots of files together.

In the example below, the Word files are alternate with web pages, so Ctrl and click has been used to highlight the files.

Selected Word documents

Click 'Open'.

The completed upload page should look something like this:

Completed Multiple Files upload page

Click on OK to go to the Page Group Details Page. See Add Page Group/Web Page without Subfolder for how to fill this in.

If you get a message saying that there is already a page group with that name, you can choose to replace it or rename the current page group. See Add Page Group/Do you want to replace Page Group? for more details.

The multiple files will look like this on Webstore:

The publisher for that folder can click on the 'Publish All Page Groups' to make all the page groups viewable by anyone on the internet.
