Assigning an Index Page

(relevant to Caretakers, Administrators)

A web page group that has been published can be assigned as an index page for the folder it is in. This always comes first in the folder and is shown as a Index, and usually contains information about the other page groups in the folder. In a way, the home page(s) are the index page for the organisation.

Assign as folder index

The caretaker (or administrator) can click on a published web page group and click 'Assign as folder index'.

Assigning index

The page group is then promoted to the top of the folder as in the example below:

Index at the top of a folder

It remains at the top of the folder, even if other page groups are added which are normally arranged alphabetically. It is still a published web page group, and can be clicked on and viewed in the normal way.

As you can see, it can also be 'unpublished' and deleted like any other web page group.

To change an index page, either delete it directly in the Index page group options menu or click on 'Unassign Index', and the page returns to be a published web page group within the folder.
